What flashgun for d3100 - want full ttl

I currently have a sb400 flash which is great, but want something bigger I can use with a soft box. I purchased a jessops 360 flash last year only to find out ttl only operates when pointing directly forward.

Is there a good flash out there with all the swivel functions that will use ttl which ever way the flash is pointing

You don't mention budget, but you can't go wrong with any of the more advanced [than the sb400] Nikon range. SB600/700/800/900/910
