just found one of my old tees,perhaps i should wear it to the airshow [there is usually a lot of walter mittys at these shows]?
i got it after i was flown into sarajevo to drive the UN Special Coordinator for Sarajevo william eagleton around,[which as i told everyone made me the special driver!].
we went out to meet meet the serbs surrounding sarajevo [past all the trenches and gun lines] amongst other jobs.
i flew in on a russian Antonov An-22 which looked like it would drop out of the sky it was held together with gaffa tape and had loads of bolts missing.
when i left it was on a canadian c-130 which the crew where wearing flak jackets and sitting on one as well [just like in the nam].
as i had been told to leave mine i wasnt best pleased,though as it was we made it out.
it was the next flight they shot at and had to close the airfield for weeks.
as i am going on my motorbike this lot fits in one of my side panniers the other side will have my personel gear [flask,food,snacks,cap,glasses,waterproof and a seat!].
i could take my D700 and another lens but i prefer to use one DSLR at a time and travel light.
1,70-200 F2.8 [the best and gives more options than my 300mm]
2,TC 1.4 [perfect]
3,mamiya rubber hood [superb protection and you can rest it on a wall.
4,LX5 super for wide shots or quick videos,one of my all time favourite cameras.
