No
The default on the Nikon D90 is 3x2 and my Olympus PEN is 4x3.

Which do you use?

D90: 4288 x 2848
PEN: 4032 x 3024

For general viewing on my PC, I leave my pictures in their native ratio of 3:2. If I am going to print an image, I'll crop it to match the ratio of the paper I'm printing to.

I let the camera use its full array of photosites, so the DSLRS are 3x2 and compacts tend to be 4x3. If I'm printing at home (or farming them out) I resize to the print ratio. 6x4 needs no treatment other than a resize but the A series of papers are sq.root 2 x 1 so get cropped to that as well as a resize.

Of course, some pics benefit from a different format (the circular images my fisheye gives look better when cropped to square) so they get what they deserve.

Cheers for the answers fellas.

I've changed my PEN to the D90 aspect ratio.

I assume is using all the 12.3MP as the pixel count is 4288 x 2848.

4:3 just seemed a little square for my liking.

I either keep the image at 3:2 or crop to a more pleasing ratio. And then if printing I find it irrelevant if there are random white bands round to edges as the framer cuts and mounts appropriately. Easy

I'm using whatever the D90 is outputting (3:2). I rarely crop but I'm thinking I should start trying out the 4:3 (or other) look on some pics.

usually whatever the it is straight out of the camera.
i do sometimes use 16x10 and rarely 16x9 depending whether the composition allows.

What ever suits the shot.
I generally go for 16 x 12 or 16 x 16, though if a canvas is planned then I will upsize to suit the canvas I plan on ordering.

So I end up using 3:2, 4:3 and 1:1
