What is an acceptable shutter count?

How long is a piece of string?

Buy based on condition not on a number, I'd much rather have a camera with 50K on the shutter that has been well looked after and is in imaculate condition than one with 8K that has been beaten to death.

I'd even go as far as to say some higher shutter count bodies can be abit of a steal as not so many people want to fight over them for example a 5D mkii with a high but not stupid shutter count recently went for about £200 less than those with a lower count in the MM.
 
You can always get one with minimal use and it could fail (bathtub curve!). Better look for one that has been cared for and well maintained. Unless you are shooting lots of sports events (that's where you want newis or very cheap) a bit higher count should have almost no impact to you at all

The one I bought a few weeks ago had 1139 on it. :lol:

I wouldn't worry too much about it if the camera has been looked after.

That was mine! £900.

Basically sold it with a free shutter.
