What Is That?

I was checking the previous night's CCTV footage for fox activity yesterday. I normally just flick through them, dragging the slider to speed things up as it can be tedious. I dropped the slider on this one though and hence, heard something on the video.

I'm not sure what it is, it starts at just about 3 seconds in and goes on for a few seconds more.

I'm thinking Tawny Owl? We have loads here, I hear them calling very often.

Could it be something else though? There have been Barn Owls reported a few years ago.

Or could it be a mammal?

I think Tawny Owl? Sounds a little longer than a normal call, may be a little distressed, calling for a mate?

I get one waking my me up at 3am with all sorts of calls after seeing the cat
