It is connected to a flash by a PC chord I have one by Nissin, called syncho -eye; and it looks exactly like yours. So it could very well be a Nissin. Look up the F&S Marriots website, there is one for sale at 6GBP

I guess, one as the key light, the other as fill lights. Pretty robust units too; mine work fine. The black plastic box used to go in a cardboard box which had the manufacturers name.
