What is wrong with me??

Just got a great camera, a Canon 30D with 2 lenses, love it dead fast great piece of kit. And yet, I keep on going thru s/h listings looking for another DSLR! And a D5000 with kit lens for £380 is making me think! :bonk: To convince myself, I am only going to upgrade when the camera doesn't do what I want anymore. That way, I'll never be able to upgrade my 30D! I just hope I grow out of this, as its very costly, and hope I'm not the same when I'm married!

If you just want to buy a new toy, and why not, why not have a look at a 35mm film SLR. They're dirt cheap and you'll probably be able to pick up a nice one complete with a lens for not a lot at all.

d5000 is massively entry level while a 30d is semi pro, don't do it man thats not even mentioning the N word

You have the classic "Upgradeitus" syndrome. The only cure is emptying the wallet on a shiney new cam.

Yup I'm not doing it. Thing is with me, I love stuff thats maybe not better in the field, but has loads of clever stuff, like the HD video, gimmicky modes, even though I know it won't make me a better photographer really. 'Have you seen my new Nikon D5k? Does HD video, you know, and a pull out LCD, and Face Detection...etc etc' Thats me sadly, I love going on about techy stuff, though I WILL NOT GET IT!
