Hiya folks.
Gonna have an early morning trip out on Saturday morning with a few people from here.
Heading to Dunham Massey to try and get some good images of the deers rutting.
trying to decide what kit to take with me. The 70-300mm lens is the longest lens I hav, but I am also toying with the idea of taking me 2x teleconverter.
Not realy sure if I will need it - as you ca get pretty close to the deer, but that said I have never seen a rut - so can't say how close I'll be able (or want) to get.
However, if I do take it, I will therefore lose a few stops and the either have to crank the ISO up, or work with crap shutter speeds and tripod - not the best idea for fighting animals!!!!
So come on - what would you do ???
Other glass in the kit includes the nifty fifty and Sigma 17-70 although I fear both of those will be too small and anyway,I don't want to be lugging massive amounts around with me. Just getting out of bed for 0630 on a weekend will be struggle enough.
TBH, I reckon I already know the answer ... take the 70-300mm on camera and add the TC if the light / deer permit. Just thought I'd get your ideas on it .....
Cheers.
Anth.
