What lens for a tight budget??

Hi folks

Got a loan of a 14-24 Aspherical lens from a mate in work for my D80, I know its an FX lens and the D80 is a DX but I wanted to have a quick play around with it. I drove up to Glencoe last weekend to try and get some decent shots with its wide angle. Weather was wet,cold and cloud was very low but never the less was a good trip and got some experience if nothing else. Going to go up without the Mrs next time as I dont know how many times I heard the phrase's "Im cold" "My feet are cold" "Im starving":bonk:

I had to give the lens back yesterday and to be honest I was a bit worried about using it as it costs a lot of cash and didnt want to break it!! Anyway, I would like to get a good landscape lens but have a pretty small budget (£200-£250. Is there anything decent out there that would get some good pictures? I dont mind going for Tamron/Sigma if that helps?

there are some nice sigma 12-20 type lenses and they rate very highly on the canon
can't see it being different for the nikon, also Tokina 11-16 or something

can you list what you have already? D80 I presume but what kit lens too?

I have D80 with Nikon 18-55 kit lens, Nikon 50mm 1.8G, and a Nikon 18-200 3.5-5.6. I know its not the biggest kit but Im just starting out in photography and try to build it up as I save the cash!!
