without a price range is difficult to give an answer. I use for such as jobs two lenses: a zoom Nikon 10-24mm and a MF prime Voigtlander 20mm f3.5. Both are greatly serving me.

Depends on what you actually want and what the budget is. If you don't want to spend a great deal then you would do well to look at the Nikon 18-70 AF-S as it is a cracking lens and can be found for about £120 ish. If you want an UWA then the sigma 10-20 seems to be quite well regarded

NSFW - at first I though it was - need for speed most wanted !

OP - I think the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM would be the best option if you can spend some 400quid or so. p.s. get it where you can test it .
18-55 at 18mm does well if you can't afford the sigma.

don't know about the voigtlander but the nikon is twice the price. if you can stretch - get the nikon :)

thanx for the advice guys i already have a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens and my budget is about £100-£600

save your money - shoot at 18mm - until you find something lacking - then make a decision

Had the 10-20mmSig, great fun, however, I re thought my whole photographic experience. Dug out the Nikon 18-70, blew the dust off, its been on the body ever since . . . Now sold most of the kit, all good stuff, but I asked the question 'why . . . do I need this or this or . . . '. I'm now back to basics with no regrets, and I think, taking better pictures . . . ?

CJS

PS, I went backwards to a D5000 . . . a D90 in sheeps clothing, there were personal mobility reasons why, but its been a good move IMHO.
