What Lens Hood to get?

Hi Guys,

i dont often come on here and im still very new to all the photography etc, but i'm heading to turkey next week and i was think about getting a lens hood for my Canon eos 500d i have the lens ef s55-250mm f/4-5.6is as i thought it would help keep to much sun from being on the lens. could anyone say which one to get etc i have looked around on amazon etc but not sure. also can i use it on my other lens is well which is efs 18-55mm or would i need 2.

Yeh link not working for me neither I'm guessing it's the cone one I need to get us that correct.
 
Got it now that's awesome thank u. May I ask what's the overall sufferance with a cone and petal hoods. Cheers

Hi

You need the EW-60C for your 18-55 lens and the ET-60 for the 55-250 lens.

Your options are either to go genuine canon or 3rd party for the hoods ...
 
don't get that flower hood. kit lens front elements rotate, so after focusing at 18mm you will see the hood in the corners.
 
Yeh okey dokey guys that all sounds good. Would the petal hood be seen if I use it on my 55-250mm lens and would it make a difference on landscape pictures etc just thought I would ask if not I'll get the canon et60

You've got two different lenses and if you want hoods then you need two different hoods so you need to get them both. Also the ones recommended by Canon are the ones you need.
