Ok, I've gone a bust my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 lens so want to replace it. What would you recomend?

I may in the furture go full frame so idealy I would like a lens that will be ok for my 7D and a future upgrade.

Would the Canon 24-70mm f2.8 be a good option? I will be buyng second hand as new is just out of my reach at the moment and I want the best bang for my buck.

Any advise appreciated.

The Canon 24-70mm is an EF lens so it should work with both your existing 7D and any future full frame upgrade.

I've not used one myself but they are generally well thought of.

Well I bought the Sigma second hand for about £250, I dropped my camera the weekend and bust the end off the lens so I doubt it's worth fixing now.

Camera is only a month old and I need to send that in to get it repaired as the view finder is now full of crap :-(

in that zom range you wont get a better zoom than the 24 -70, i love mine

Paul I'm sorry to hijack your thread but can I ask your opinion on the sigma lens as I'm thinking of getting one myself, stuck between it and the tamron 28 - 75.

Well I was very pleased with it, found it to be a good lens. Only reason I'm not replacing it is I'm hoping to go full frame eventually and would like the slightly better quality Canon lens.
