Starting April 8th (cherry Blossom season)
Going to Koyto for 4 days
Mount Fuji one day
Tokyo 4 days
Thinking of taking Nikon;
14/24
24/70
Swithering over taking 70/200 and a 300mm for Mount Fuji
What do you think, can I leave the long lenses at home??

You can g/tee the lens you leave at home is the one you want went you get their :eek:

Me i would for what i mostly shoot it would be the 24-70mm & 70-200mm :)

Shame you haven't got the 24-120 could have just taken the one lens then.

Didn't know there was such a thing

There are 2 (at least) versions. The older, variable aperture one wasn't that good but the current f/4 one is. Both have VR. Given your own suggestions, I would take 14-24-70-200, the "holy trinity". If I had to leave one behind, it would be the tele.

I read the revies of the 24/100 and from what I read it would be a complete waste of money to buy that lens as the quallity is (as per the review "not very good")

Last time I travelled in Japan (included Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima, Miyajima) I had my D3s with 24mm and 50mm prime. That was fine, and I used the 24mm about 85% of the time. I carried an 85mm "in case I needed it", but I never did. Wished I'd left it at home :-)

I would not leave behind the Bulky 70-200 is great to capture some people at their atmosphere with out disturbing...
