Hi guys, as some of you may know from my other thread, ive just bought a sony a300.

Im after a memory card for it. It says it takes the sony pro duo 2 ones but on amazon i see review about people complaining about fake cards? Also, do the sandisk ones work ok?

It also says it uses compact flash with an adaptor? Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers :)

Im new to this lol

If it's the same as my a200 (which it is!) then you can use Compact Flash cards straight out the packet (no adaptor) or you can use Sony Pro Duo cards with an adaptor to turn them into Compact Flash cards (sort of!)

Hope this helps!

As far as I'm aware the adapter should be for the Sony Pro Duo where as the CF card slots straight in to the camera without an adapter, or at least thats the way it works on my A350 :)

Cheers guys. I got it the wrong way round then. I'll look at gettin a compact flash card. Should any compact flash work? I dunno what different types there are.

Any CF card should do the trick but most tend to stick to the brand names like Lexar or Sandisk because of their reliabillity. Have a look at www.mymemory.com as they sometimes have some great deals going.
