I've got myself a Siggy & its heavy -:D What monopod do people use with this sort of kit.
I don't really want to drag my tripod around with me all the time (which is also heavy - lol)so am thinking monopod.
Any recommendations ?

Save a bit of £££ for a nice tripod/monopod head too - mine just had a flat base plate, so you couldn't tilt on un-even ground, or go portrait

thanks guys..

Are they that different or is it just an extendable pole ?

I've never used (or so much seen one)..
Do the bells & whistles do or mean anything?
I am just looking now at the Manfrotto versions... - just saw some Giztos online - OUCH - £400 +
budget is approx under £100 - quite happy to get s/h...

The main things for me are:
Are they solid enough?
Are they tall enough for me when standing? Otherwise they can be a real pain in the neck.
Can it be easily adjusted when it is wet or my hands are wet. Thats why I like flip locks.
I almost never use a head on mine. I am happy using collar on the lens.

So a spiked foot is a major requirement ?

Some have a spike "hidden" inside the rubber foot - it's more for levelling out the camera if you're standing on a wierd angle or wanting to use the camera in portrait orientation.

I've never had an issue with slippage

looks like I'm going to go shopping - that's Richard, Paul, Nick, Joe
