What Nikon DSLR would you considered as a backup/remote/second body

As much as I loved the D700, it's colour reproduction and DR is so radically different to the D800 that it might introduce problems when trying to edit a mix of D800/D700 pics.

If you're not shooting in challenging lighting conditions the D600/610 is worth a look.
