Hello,

I'm looking to get my first inkjet colour printer.

I was looking Canon Pixma 4600. Does anyone know how easy it is to colour manage that printer? Are there profiles available? or would I rather use paper profiles instead?

Lots of questions!

i think its stupid buying printers for photographs because there too expensive to run but they are good for proofing.

they are however a great way of getting prints there and then and on surfaces that you don't get from a mini lab. sure if you only print 6x4's or 7x5's then stick to the mini labs.

oh and modern pigment in prints will out last minilab prints too

Yeah I know the minor points tbh.

I want to know the colour management options for cheap inkjet printers. As without that theres absolutely no point paying for a slightly nicer one.

I find the epson print dialogue box a lot simpler to use than the canon one

I can't tell you about calibration, but I can say I like the printer as I have one, unfortunately I generally use it for documents atm
