Since we moved I've made a point of trying to get more of my images on the wall. It's a never ending battle as I want to hang what I like, and the other half (who is actually in charge of these things) tells me that "the colours done't match/work... :banghead:

I've just ordered this one as a canvas for myself, as it means a lot to me, but I'd be interested to see what you guys have hanging up...

Mainly holiday photos (as opposed to snaps!). From where I'm sitting, I can see a UWA shot of Chania's lighthouse with flare off the lamp housing, a shot of the window of a shop specialising in amber and 2 panoramas - one of Chania's harbour and one of the frontage in Aghia Gallini at dusk. Others around the house include a wall of assorted A3s, a sleeve (double sided) of holiday snaps (with a couple of photos as well) and a few other shots in frames.

We've got this on the bedroom wall....... It is a few years old now (2015) but, it was our first holiday together (it's my kids in the shot) Also have a 3 photo frame of 'selfies' of me & the other half.....

I'm unsure of whether to keep that one ^^^ or update it with a newer one.....

We have redecorated the kitchen, lounge & our bedroom is next so there will be photos going up we just have to decide on which ones. Maybe not the technically best ones, but maybe the best memory ones.

Ohh, the lounge has a fair sized panorama of the New York skyline that I had a frame made for that my daughter got me as a gift from a school trip a few years ago too.

Mostly holidays now.
At the moment we have Amalfi coast, Pompei, France, Guernsey, IoW, Bath, Northumberland and Bristol Suspension Bridge :D
They change regularly, my wife chooses them, so not always what I consider my best shots, and I print them and put them where she says.
Family shots are either framed and displayed on units etc. or just printed at A6 and put on the fridge.

Cobo Bay Guernsey.

Lots of pictures on walls in my house (though it is a very small house) - a few paintings (not mine!) but most of the prints are my own. I've been trying to replace two of them for a long time but as yet haven't taken the 'right' ones. Oddly my study has very few of my own but it has mainly 'work' related (aviation) stuff. My favourite hangs in the hall and is a canvas print produced from a scan of a 6 x 4 35mm print, taken in 1989 of one of my cats sitting on a rock in the mist on Dartmoor, with the names of all my (ex)cats on it. There's a box in the loft full of the ones I've taken down.

none of my pic's on the wall's but a few in frames here and there.

Selfie, and Ms d00d ....

Getting images that suit the wife’s colour scheme is one of the key points. Another is getting the orientation, aspect ratio and size right to fit the available space.

To be honest I haven’t printed enough of the images I’ve taken but I have started to print some albeit all canvas wall prints.

The first image I printed was this Red Squirrel.

The second image I printed has since been taken down as it doesn’t suit the colour scheme in the lounge since we knocked through making it open plan. I’m trying to find a new place for it but so far haven’t found a place for it.

I replaced it with this image of a Puffin as it suited the green colour scheme my wife wanted (it had to be a green landscape orientation image to enable it to work with the Red Squirrel canvas).

I have plans to print a canvas for our second bedroom. It needs to suit a lilac colour scheme so I’m thinking of printing a bluebell image (in landscape orientation) I took at sunset a few years ago. The problem for me is all of the images I’ve printed so far have a meaning or represent something to me. I don’t really connect with the bluebell image so that’s part of why I’ve not got around to printing it yet.

I've got this column of 3 lilac flower images, also in my hall.

Thanks. Could you recommend a company for your canvases?

I use Trade Canvas Print, they have a thread on the forum somewhere.

Edit: I ordered the rose on Sunday, and it's arriving today. Not sure where it's going to go, and the Mrs doesn't know about it yet either!

I’ve used trade canvas print who are based in Tenby. They are my go to printers if I want a canvas. They have a discount code for TP members.

Don’t get them confused with the .com address, that’s different company. I got caught out by that once.

I've got too many to post individually but I use the end wall of my kitchen as a photo wall with multiple 6" x 4" framed photos.....

Looks good (y)

I was thinking of doing something similar as a feature wall in our dining room. I was planning to make a mosaic of different sized/shaped prints based on a green colour scheme. I costed it up but it came out at £500-600 so I’ve not got around to it.

Are they still operating, there website suggests not?

I'm really interested in the method of mounting. How thick is the MDF, and did the printer do the mounting?

I use a guy called Matt Stilwell. If you are on Fb then his company is called RED43. He also mounts in thin aluminium sheet. He works from home and has massive, high quality printers in all his bedrooms. He's a gent..
