I know a lot of toggers on here have a point and shoot as well as an slr so what do you have?

My bro is looking for a point and shoot and has a budget of £200. Will be used for things like group shots, nights out etc. Had a quick look around and seems that the Panasonic Lumix range is pretty good, what do you think?

Would be good if it's available from John Lewis. I know they over inflate their prices but have vouchers to be used.

Thanks

You will get alot of people rightly saying the Lumix range is good, but i think the Canon Ixus 870 IS just tips it in looks (has no HD Vid though).
Thats why i have just bought one.

Have you really just bought a camera because of how it looks?

Do you want a point and shoot slr style camera or a compact one. Fuji do some great slr style camera.

If you want a compact with basic functions then I cant help, but if you want somthing with manual functions and an excellent 10x optical zoom then I couldnt recommend the Sony DSC-H10 enough. Brilliant little camera that is excellent for learning with.

Point and Shoot Camera,
Fuji F100fd or F200EXR
Panasonic FX38/40
Ricoh R8/R10
Canon IXUS 100IS?

For me I would go for Fuji as ISO performance is great on Fuji F series camera

I had a play with the Canon 100 IS Black today. I'll be getting one as it has an optical viewfinder and when the screen is switched of, there is virtually no shutter lag. To me, they are the most important features on a P&S
