As I'm looking to purchase a high end digital SLR camera, what specific photos do you personally most like taking (or what one/s do you find turn out much better) on a digital SLR camera and please say why.

If anyone can provide links, to either their own web page/s, or that of someone else's, showing images taken with digital SLR cameras,
that'd be helpful as well.

Hi & welcome to the forum buddy,
As a general answer to kind of an all encompassing question, a "high end" DSLR will comfortably tackle any & all types of photography subjects, its all down to lens & personal choice. A photographers choice between macro lenses, telephoto, prime, etc is based on their own choice of image.
Just take a look around the forum & galleries & if you see something you like, consider whether or not you would enjoy taking photographs of the subjects.
As this is your first (I presume) foray into buying such a camera, just find some subjects that you enjoy, you'll be far more likely to get better captures of a subject that you really want to photograph rather than images of a subject that you just feel you should be taking pics of.
There are a lot of amazing images & photographers here that have proved very inspirational to me & the advice is freely & kindly given.
I advise taking a look at the quicklinks & beginner stuff here (& also waiting for the real pro's to look in & leave an answer).
Anyway, good luck with the new cam, have fun & I look forward to seeing some of your images. (y)

candid personal shots is my favourite. it captures so much.
other than that i just like snapping away :D

My main interest is wildlife shooting, particularly in 'exotic' and developing countries (partly because there is still some wildlife left in those places!) While I am in the Uk I shoot urban details mainly. It all depends on your own personal interests. You don't need very expensive gear. It's good to work out at least initially what your interest is likely to be. That conditions the kind of gear you might need to buy. A good photo is about composition and exposure and the best photo's will usually express some strong idea or highlight something that the viewer may not have thought about or noticed. Of course, snapshot style shots are also nice if you like memories.

So, decide what you want to 'specialise' in, even if it it is just general/walkaround images, then decide on your budget and post again with that information. No doubt you will get advice.

I will take photos of anything really but there has to be something a bit special about a landscape or some architecture for me to be interested in it....I adore macro photography, especially of flowers, and I adore taking portraits of children playing, especially my grandchildren...

Anything really, but I get a great deal of satisfaction from wildlife and macro photography. :)
