I am looking to buy a camcorder with a budget of only £500 maximum.

I want to record my friends music groups at pub venues and similar so they can use them on You Tube, Facebook etc

A camcorder that was recommended was a Panasonic HC-X920E as several reviews I found online said it was good for such use - needless to say it has been discontinued for some reason

Can anyone give me comparible recommendations in my budget range

thanks

I have a Panasonc HC-X900m and it is amazing .This is not the HC-X900 version cost new £850 just checked my receipt

I would if I were you grab this one it is a real steal at this price. great sound repro as well

make them a final offer bid to close down the sale. Originally it cost 3 times the asking price and was their top of range model. One advantage with this one is it can record 2 ways with stills and video, wwith built in memory and SD card in any recording combo. Some only have something like built in recording for both stills and video.

For the money the small scratch mentioned you could get repaired and still have money left over. I would say grab it while you can and arrange for to to be couriered instead of the global way in the advert.

So what is it like

tricky lighting conditions and no camcorder manual adjustments. Not even any editing

I understand that later models were not built to the same standard as this one, lighter bodied seem to be proof. that one you quoted records everyting onto SD cards video and stills ,so you then have to seperate them later

Mine you can select any combo 32gig intrnl memory (touch screen)

Try a mirrorless like a Sony a5100 or a6000. The sensor is gigantic compared to a camcorder. Or m43 like olympus and Panasonic.

Perfectly agree.
In these conditions only a DSLR full frame with excellent ISO performances like the Sony does the job
