I find myself in a bit of a dilemma, albeit a nice dilemma :) In the New Year we will be travelling to and around the Far East for a few months.

We will be doing the trip on a budget, so staying in pretty basic hotels (i.e. probably not very secure). So as you can imagine I am not that keen on taking all my expensive gear with me as I know I would just be worrying about it all the time, either losing myself by being careless it or getting it stolen.

So what to do? At the moment I'm thinking get a decent bridge camera, something like the Lumix FZ38 or the new FZ45 when it is released shortly?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks - Simon.

How about a decent P&S? I have a Canon s90 which is tiny and easily slips into the pocket. It has Raw and I find the quality outstanding!

The Mrs has a Lumix TZ6, which is pretty good, but I wanted something with more manual control. Perhaps we should just stick with the TZ6
