What to get

Hi

I am going to invest in a new DSLR at the end of the month, and wanted to know what everyone would recommend?

I had D40, but found the limited lenses a bit of a problem, also thinking of going Canon this time

I have a budget of around £250 and would like a half decent lens included too, have been looking at the Canon 10D which I can pick up quite cheap.

I would love a Macro lens, as this would be perfect for shots of my fish, which are my main subject

Canon outlet store on eBay might be worth a look, can probably pick up a re-furb for that.

Have you co nsidered a bridge camera. I think this would be your best bet with a £250 budget. Have a look at these Fish they were taken with a bridge.

You could spend on a 1:1 macro lens for the nikon. Not sure 250 is enough for a 105mm nikon but might be for a tamron 90mm

is there anyone near you who could loan you to see what you think of the lens?

my first DSLR was the nikon D40, in hindsight a great camera but as you said when you explore further has its limitations

i looked and explored all options and wanted to stay with Nikon but too pricey. Canon didn't like the feel or menus.

The Sony came up top trumps at the time for price, features etc.
IS inbuilt, compatible with more lenses from minolta, a300 what i got had liveview

I see this occasionally. I had to use the menu when I changed my focus screen, but other than that?? Why do you need to?
