Hello again guys :)

I going to buy my upgrade lens this weekend (Canon 55-250IS)
Its second hand as budget is tight at the moment, what should i look at when i will meet the guy and will hold the lens in my hands ?

Never bought any lens before so please forgive me my ignorance here.

Cheers

It's just common sense, really. Look for signs of damage or neglect - scratches on the optics etc and if possible take your camera with you and try it to make sure everything works as it should.

Take your body with you, attach it - make sure it works properly.

Any dents in the front or rear to indicate it has been dropped?

Check it autofocuses correctly.

Check the aperture works properly.

Does it zoom in and out smoothly.

In short, don't fret about spending 20-30 minuites making sure it works properly before parting with your hard-earned cash.
