what tripod and bag

Hi

Whats your budget and what do you shoot mainly?

I wouldn't trust my nice camera & lenses sitting on something cheap ;-)

Well Ive got a Manfrotto 055XProB and a 322rc2 head. Certainly not the lightest setup, but to me it has good height, good build quality and is very flexible.

I can open the legs wide apart so it is almost flush to the ground...you can invert the centre column if you want the camera really low (for macro etc) and you can also position the centre column horizontally with ease (again useful for macro). The 322rc2 head is a ballhead operated single-handedly by a trigger mechanism and can be positioned almost instantly. There is a newer model of this out 324 or 327.

Obviously there are others with very similar functions etc, Redsnapper and Giottos are often recommended on here too unless you can stretch to a Gitzo

Im after a bag too....that choice is even greater than tripods, I cant decide on that. Quite possibly Im gonna take a punt on the Amazon basics range

Im gonna need a few bags...smaller ones for long treks, heavy duty for storage and probably one somewhere in between.

I have the Manfrotto 055XProB tripod as well so can certainly recommend it, but the choice is huge and everyone will have their favourite.

Same applies to bags, however a lot will depend on how many lenses you intend to carry and if you will be carrying it any long distances?
