What Tripod ?

Have a decision to make here, i am looking for a better tripod now i am more into photography than my el cheapo one.

Anyway i have decided on either a Redsnapper 283 Tripod and RSH-528 3-Way Head Kit or a Manfrotto 725B with its ball head.

The prices are about the same i can get the manfrotto for £50 and the redsnapper for just over £60, i may even be able to get cheaper as i am tempted to go 2nd hand as i don't use a tripod much but when i do i want it steady.

Anyway i prefer the 3 way head of the redsnapper but the ball head would be bearable anyway what would you go with if you had the choice ?

As a TP member you can get a discount off redsnapper :-)

The Redsnapper will also come with a bag which I doubt the Manfrotto will....

As you can tell I have one :-) Really pleased with it, great quality.

I have a manfrotto 3 way head on mine, I like it a lot compared to a ball.

Manfrotto one does have a bag included, i know about the discount as thats how i have managed to get the redsnapper for £63. I am tempted by the redsnapper more they look great tripods only thing thtas holding me back is in college i have used manfrotto tripods and have seen how much of a beating they can take from other students.
 
Not sure of your budget. I have the 'frotto 190. Really wished I'd bought the 055, it's much sturdier. I only use the tripod for static subjects and have a 'frotto 410 Junior geared head. Heavy and slow but precise, I'd reccomend it.
 
I've just bought the Manfrotto 190XPROB and a ballhead which seems a good balance of stability and portability. My primary consideration though was getting a tripod that would get down to within a few cm of the ground. If you've got any specific interests or projects it can be the little details of the legs and heads that make the difference.

Sadly cant afford that much, i am reluctant to even buying a better tripod as i barely ever use it but the one i have at the moment is awful and when i do use the tripod i want it to be sturdy.

Ye i know what you mean for me though all i really want is a sturdy tripod for a few longer exposures and the odd landscape or 2.
