What very large kit bag ?

Hi all, im after a large backpack to accommodate my growing lens collection, I currently own the following back packs:

Tamrac adventure 9: My ‘main’ back pack, has an area for camera stuff and a small section above for other things – This is what im looking to replace, it can’t hold all my lenses now, is a very very tight fit !!.

Lowpro slingshot 300AW – Use this for events photography, weddings, nightclubs/gigs etc for the obvious reasons such as quick access to extra kit !

Small lowpro side bag – occasionally use this when I just take my dslr and one lens.

So im after ideally a backpack that can hold the following and I can take onto an airplane if needed:

Canon 5D + Grip
Canon 24-70L F2.8
Sigma 15-30 f3.5 (v large lens)
Sigma 70-200 F2.8
Sigma 1.4x extender
Canon 50mm F1.8
Canon 85mm F1.8
Pouch of cokin filters (about size of a very large burger, haha) + lens fit adaptors
4xspare batteries
Mem cards
Accessories such as rocket blower, lens pens and a few other bits and bobs

Also a macbook pro if there is any options to hold a laptop also that would be ideal

Iv taken a look at the tarmac adventure 10 but im wondering what else is there ? :)

Cheers for heads up however it will b used 99% time not on planes, jus thought b useful if I go on hol, usually once a year, although I may go twice this year, again more of a large back pack am after :)
 
I have the expedition 8 and it carries all the gear i need to take out and remain mobile.

I find it exceptionally comfortable to wear over extended periods.

Definitely my next bag. Holds the same amount of kit as my Lowepro Pro Trekker, can be taken on a plane and is super light weight due to being made out of pro sailcloth material.

Other options to look at; Lowepro Trekker Series, Think Tank range, Tamrac Expedition series and Kinesis system bags.
 
I use a ThinkTank StreetWalker HardDrive backpack and it's amazing for all my needs (roughly what you have, but Nikon stuff). It also has a dedicated laptop compartment tucked away. I think its about £150 (approx).

I think Ali and I might have a slightly warped view of big when it comes to camera bags!

My ThinkTank Streetwalker Pro is my small bag for when I am travelling light!
 
The StreetWalker Pro is a smaller bag than the StreetWalker HardDrive. Yes Badger we may just have warped ideas of big. I find that I can hold:
2x DX bodies (D200 with grip & D300s).
4x flashes .
80-200mm, sigma 20mm (fat), 35mm, 50mm, 60mm macro, 85mm, 16-85mm.
wireless flash poppers.
laptop
filters, extra CF cards and my cleaning kit.

I have taken this backpack on several flights and it's gone in the overhead (usually) with no problems. I don't know where you live Ben, but I'd suggest finding somewhere that stocks a good range of thinktank products. They are without a doubt reliable and good value. Thanks :)

Oooh, didn't realise you had one. How do you find it? The reviews and writeups all seem to sing it's praises. Is it noticeably lighter when in use? How sturdy is is? Worth the money and better than the other options?

No idea what you are talking about.:thinking: Don't think I could use a bag much bigger as I already have problems getting through gates and over stiles. Problem is I am now also taking a Large format camera out as well as my D300 and I am running out of space and ability to lift it all. :lol:
 
Add my vote to the Tamrac Expedition Series - I have an Expedition 5 and can recommend it.
 
I have a computrekker that will probably hold that lot plus the laptop (as long as it is not a 17" model - I can't zip it up with the 17" macbook pro in it).
 
I have the Crumpler big cheese. It fits within the new air-port regulations.
Took it through to america just recently with:

15.4" laptop
Canon 7d
Canon 400d
(1.4x extender)
18-55, 50mm/1.8
10-22
28-135
70-300
100-400L
580 EXII

DS in case + seperate cases of cards, book, memory cards, 2 spare batteries, magazine, +empty (by the time I got to security) bottle (500ml) of water

Gives you an idea of what it can fit in. I could shoot/access the 7d, 10-22, 70-300, 28-135, 100-400 (either on the camera or not) through the top pouch, and access the 580 EX II from the top pouch (would not fit with the camera attached) in this setup.

However, in this setup, the bag weighed 15kg (heavier than one of our suitcases!), I had an email from the airline stating that I could take this (weight) on as hand luggage.
With this much kit in it (and as it was for the airport), I did not fill the filter holder section with my filters. I reckon I could have gotten a couple in as it was. Without the laptop, you could fit loads in.
