No
I recently sold an exhibition print to a good friend, but she damaged it on the way to the framers.

She'd like another print. Given that I sold the first one at a very good price, how much should I charge for the replacement? More, less or the same? (Not more, obviously.....)

Same price - she damaged it after it was sold. Not your fault.
I appreciate she's a friend, but that shouldn't make a difference.

If it were me, I'd wait for her to offer to pay the full-price, then say "nahh I'll do it for cost".
However, if she expects a discount from the outset, then I'd make her pay in full...

She's already offered to pay MORE, which obviously is out of the question.......

Sometimes its difficult to know when to be generous or not.....

Cost??? That's £2.50. But don't tell her, will you.....

A 'good' friend only ever gets charged cost by me, same with family.

You can't charge cost now though if she paid £20 before as she may be miffed that you charged £20 in the first place when she knows how much it really cost.

£2.50...?
OK in that case, just give her another print...

Just tell her that you had a chat with you printers and they sorted you out and give it to her. You look good, she's happy.

She understands that the cost of a photograph to hang on the wall is not just the cost of the paper and the ink......

Just give her one.

Then offer another print at cost.....

I'll get me coat.

Which she acknowledges by offering more than you originally asked for: if she's really a 'good friend' then seeing as she's offered and paid already, for the cost of a £2.50 print, you can afford to be big about it and give her a freebie (and a ride to the framers so she doesn't muck up another print).

I'd offer it for free
Dave

Sell another one fully mounted and framed. This will avoid another accident, and make it easier to charge for it.

I might offer to do that. I've some frames in stock!

She recently let it slip that it was her birthday. I think that may hold the answer to my dilemmma.
