Ok, so i have been saving for a while now and have scraped together about £854... not that ive been counting or anything.....
I recently done a portrait assignment and gave the mother all the pictures with my watermark on to do with as she will. shes uploaded them to facebook and is using them as her profile picture and from that im finding a lot of people asking for my services.. which is always nice....
the plan was always to start doing on location photography once i had finished the course but things seem to have just started happening on their own... im not going to be charging while im doing my course, just using it as a learning curve.

my problem is I feel a little un-equipted. i have a Canon EOS 40D, a nifty fifty (1.8) for portraits aswell as a tripod and speedlight but thats about it....

What gear would you get if you were going to be doing on location photography?? would you take backdrops? other lighting equiptment? etc etc??

any help is as always, greatly appreciated.

By on location do you mean studio at home type stuff?

possibly a 17 - 55 2.8? excellent bit of kit if you are doing not so posed stuff.

5 in one reflector?

Spare batteries?
 
yeah, just going round their house etc... got battries, defo gonna get the reflectors... good call :D see this is what i need.
just had a look at that lens.... how nice is that.... i can see this 800 aint gonna get me far lol

They're going second hand for about £600 or else check out the Tamron 17-55 VC... I got it instead of the Canon and love it!

Seriously though, what are you doing light-wise? Have you explored off-camera flash at all?
 
ill be honest, off camera lighting intimadates me lol, not quite got my head around it...... could you reccomend a half decent set up???
