Yes
Was going to put this in my Ladybird thread but decided against it.
Any idea what is hugging my ladybirds?

 That's brilliant!! I just love the colour.

I don't know what it is, but I wouldn't go near it!!

You have some talent:clap:

Nope.
Looks like a mini spider lizzard cross.... I'd go with spider.

Really! never seen one like that, I guess I'll see lots of critters that I've not noticed 'til I got the camera.

I need to work out how to do macro, that was just massively cropped.

At the risk of sounding facetious, do you have a macro lens? :D

Its a garden spider of the (Pisauridae: Pisaura mirabilis) Nursery Web Spider kind.

I have the Fuji S9500, it got a macro/supermacro button on the side.
Every time I press it it goes all blurred. Need to read my manual some more.

You need to get in close - about 2cm away from the subject (for old Canon's anyway) .... it will take longer to focus too :)

But, but I did get close :( about a foot away, how long does it take to focus on macro? I used my tripod and shutter release too.

Look what happened.

Whats your problem? Most of my photos look like that :D

Eewww Janice, that's just put me right off my sandwich :(

By god they're good macro shots though  :) (y)

Must be the spider - I can eat a sandwich while looking at your avatar with no problem :D

Superb shot Janice, Must have missed those shots first time round.

Excellent images.

   poor ladybird, that spider don't look too friendly!!!

You'll probably find you'll need to focus manually.

Not scary but this is as close as I've been able to get with my S9500. :(

Susanne, I think we'll have to bite the bullet and use the mf. The S9500 does seem to take a long time to focus. Also I don't think it has IS so turning it off isn't an option.

Some really great SCARY photo's people, keep 'em coming. :)

You didn't do too badly there Richmond, you're right the 9500 doesn't have IS hence I always use my tripod. I'm planning on doing some real photography with my 9500 and using manual settings real soon!
The camera's not bad for non SLR though, that ladybird being attacked was only 4mm long.

My spider pics were taken with my trusty Fuji s7000....superb for macros.
