whats a good monopod for D90 with grip and 70-200?

As stated i am getting soft images from my 70-200 handheld but for birds i need a monopod so can anyone recommend one please?

im pretty skint at the minute so only have £30-40 max to spend

their is many on ebay at £15 and £5 postage but i know you get what you pay for....

Do you want/need a ballhead or similar on it as well?

What's the advantage of a ball head ?

There may not be an immediate advantage to having ballhead on it, as a monopod effectively pivots and tilts by its simple design.

However you may find it offers a bit more flexibility when the foot or spike can remain in situ and the head can 'move' moreso for portrait I guess.

If I get one, Ill be adding a ballhead for those reasons aswell as the quick release plate to complement my Manfrotto setup.
