ive got a cokin p series holder, adapter rings, filters etc etc nd's, grad nds etc etc- but all my grad nds have the grad relatively centrally.....

ive seen some grad filters on dvds/videos/youtubeetc which are more rectangular so you can adjust the location of the gradient depending on the shot being taken.... any ideas what these are called as when i type in rectangular grads on google nothing remotely simialr appears

any ideas???
 
You probably have 85x85mm filters. You ideally want 100x150mm ones, which are standard "normal" sizes and will allow much greater control as to where the grad is in the frame.
 
that'l be the ones!!!

i may end up going doing the z-pro cokin avenue for the 100x150mm as they'd fit my tokina 11-16mm and sigma 50-500mm os lens- although i've read a fair few reviews about vignetting on the 11-16 tokina....

the hi tech ones would fit the existing holders for all my lens (already got adapters) with the exception of the 2 lens above..... so this may well be the better option to match my current gear

realistically- does any use nds etc for wide angle lens (77mm), and big zoom lens(95mm)?? im just trying to picture a time when it would be needed.....

All my lenses are 77mm filter thread. The widest I have at the moment is 19mm on full frame, but I did up until last week have 16mm
