I have recently been changing my lenses around a bit by selling lenses and buying something different. Im looking for a new lens to compliment my current line up.I want something which is good in low light, great for portraits or landscapes ( one or the other ). I sold my Nikon 85 f1.8 D which i hardly used but when i did i was very impressed with it.

I have my wildlife lenses covered and believe i have the portraits/people/pets covered with my 24-70 and 70-200.

So im a bit lost just now as to what to buy/

My lenses are as follows-

Nikon 600 f4 AFS--wildlife
Sigma 120-300 and tc--wildlife
Nikon 70-200 AFS--weddings/pets/portraits
Nikon 24-70 AFS--full body shots/pets/weddings

I would like a lens for full frame useage which i can buy under £400 pre owned ( 2nd hand ) but not sure if i should get something for low light ( 50 f1.4, 85 f1.8 again etc) or get a landscape lens....Any suggestions would be welcomed.
 
Personally I don't think you need one for what you do. You could always get a 35mm f1.8 I suppose

Was a joke!! :lol: not sure what they go for used but always fancied a 105mm dc or 135. Old lens but superb and reckon you could have some fun and create some nice images with the defocus control. Be superb for weddings i would imagine mate.

Hi mate. The 35 f1.8 is a DX lens and im looking for either a backup or landscape lens for FX.I sold the 85 f1.8 a few weeks back and loved it when i used it but felt it just wasnt used enough. It was more a safety net for extreme low light situations as my other lenses could cope well from f2.8 upwards.

Sorry mate i forgot to reply as a friend came in whilst i was at the pc. I think that focal length is a bit to long given that i have the 24-70 and the 70-200. I was thinking 50 or 85mm f1.4 or 1.8. If it was a landscape lens then low light ability isnt high on my list as i would shoot at f11 -f16
 
:cool:No worries...would have to be the new 85mm 1.8g then for me and for that money you could almost get it new:thumbs:
 
from looking at the cost of nikon lenses I think you are going to be a bit stuck for choice Mark.

recon you are stuck between a 50 f1.4 and an 85 f1.8
