Yes
I have been doing a few emailshots in Mail on the Mac and while they look good there (just text), the format can go to pot when received in gmail or outlook. Nothing major, but things like spaces between paragraphs go so it looks a bit messy.

I cut and paste from a previous email as I dont want to retype the email 50 times!!!! Any ideas or other ways I can do this?

Can you compose an email in HTML with "Mail" ?

If so you could make a layout using tables in Dreamweaver and then just copy and paste it into each email or save it as a template.

Don't.

Use MailChimp instead ;)

I've suggested mailchimp in the past, but aparantly if it's used for business could be considered to be in breach of the data protection act...

It's against the law to store a Europeans data outside of the EU. Mailchimp are US based.

Mailchimp and other US companies know this, and it's buried in the t&c's...

Mailchimp Terms and Conditions said:
Represent and warrant that you have complied, and will comply, with all data protection and privacy laws and regulations applicable to the countries in which you are sending any form of email via MailChimp including, for example, with respect to the United Kingdom, the Data Protection Act 1998 (and subsequent amendments thereto and relevant subordinate legislation, and to the European Union Data Protection Directive), and the regulations relating to the European Union Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive. In this regard, you represent and warrant that you have collected, stored, used and transferred all data relating to any individual in accordance with all data protection laws and regulations relating to the country in which such individual resides and obtained all necessary consents to enable MailChimp to receive and process that data and forward communications to that individual on your behalf.
You further agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any losses, including attorney fees, resulting from your breach of any part of the foregoing warranties.

I stopped using Mailchimp for this reason

Use CampaignMonitor / Mail Build instead then. They're pretty good. HTML emails in Mail are not reliable. It's a pain in the arse to even send them in the first place. If you value your business I'd not try and send html emails in any free email application that isn't reliable and doesn't provide text only feedback.

Personally I would set up a mailing list manager in some web space. This has the advantage of dealing with bounced mails properly, and allows people to remove themselves from the list. Most of them can be set to work at a speed that wont upset your server too
