Yes
I just bought the above lens (Tamron) used with a 6 month warranty from SRS Microsystems. The lens is in great condition but i have yet to take some shots with it (was out a lot yesterday and it was killing me knowing this was sat at home waiting to be tested!)I was wondering what the difference is between this and the XR variant? I looked to see if I could find any reviews on mine and they are all on the XR variation.

Just want to be sure that I bought the right one. :)

Why do you want to know? I'd just go out and enjoy using it, weather permitting of course! :D

According to Tamron, the XR stands for Extra Refractive Index glass, which means an XR element can bend light at steeper angles, thus making the lens a bit shorter.

I looked at this lens in detail at one point, I'm not sure they did one without XR glass?

In any event, it's still a cracking lens so just go out and enjoy

Heh Heh I do agree with you both and Im about to... Its just when you know something is different you worry that its not as good as the other :)
