just had one delivered a sigma apo 1.4x, was listed as canon ef and efs fitment won't fit any of my ef or efs lenses nor will it fit my bigma
do they only fit certain sigma lenses
fits the eos camera body though
 
so it doesn't fit canon ef or efs lenses only some sigma's and should fit my bigma
do you think the advert was misleading stating canon ef and efs fitment
In hint site and further investigation with hint site it appears it does actually fit a canon camera just not any canon lenses
is there a 1.4 and or 2x converter that will fit canon efs and ef lenses please

No converters fit EF-s lenses to my knowledge, since their rear elements extend far out backwards beyond the bayonet.

I think kenko's converters fit quite a few lenses, have a look into those.
 
There is a simple rule for converters.

nikon on nikon lenses
Canon on Canon lenses
Sigma on sigma Lenses
Kenko on just about any thing.
Caveat: some lenses wont work with a TC anyway you mix it.
 
My Sigma 1.4x EX DG Tele Converter certainly does fit EF lenses including my Bigma..Are you sure it is an EF fit and not one of the other fitments this is made for ie Sigma, Nikon etc
 
i think the OP is getting mixed up between the convertor having an EF Mount and fitting EF lenses, 2 totally different things.
 
before buying these things there is definitely mileage in looking through the compatibility list
as has been mentioned, if you get it wrong it could damage your kit as mentioned above

Hi

Depends on how the advert was actually worded and where did you get it from ?

If it says it's a Canon EF / EF-S fitment, then this is the body fitment rather than the lens, but could easily be taken as the other way.

Where is it from, can you return it ?

Hope you get it sorted out ...
 
With the Bigma you have to zoom the lens out to around 100mm then lock it so that the rear element doesnt come back to 50mm. You can then use the teleconverter but make sure you dont unlock it while connected otherwise they will hit each other.
 
converter was from ebay I have had no problem with any refunds so far with miss described and faulty goods.

If I don't manage to get a refund I will stick them back on ebay with a properly written listing with what I have now learnt, and a warning these do not fit ef or efs canon lenses only the ef and efs canon body
 
thanks or the advice and info just bought a kenko pro 3000 af dg much cheaper than used sigma converters which seams strange considering the kenko is supposed to be optically better
kenko don't just make good coffee it appears lol
