What's this from ISO102400?

was out last night trying out a new lens and taking photos of the moon. cranked up the ISO all the way to 102400 for a laugh when a plane flew over to see what the camera can do and here is the resultant photo, noise/grainy as heck as expected. but the interesting this is that there seems to be some sort of pattern similar to a magnet and iron filing, it is the most obvious if i take a screenshot whilst editing in LR, if i export it the pattern is barely visible. now the question is what is it??

That pattern is the famous B-Mode. It's caused by gravity waves showing evidence of the universes expansion right after the big bang. Don't worry about it.

i found out why it looks like that....

it was due to lens corrections don't know what lens correction did to it, but it "shifted" the noise and grain into this pattern?

case closed

Glad you've got to the bottom of the "feature". Not really a problem - ANY sort of image at such high ISO is likely to have far more obvious symptoms but the fact that such things are even possible is a minor miracle to me (who grew up thinking that 400 ASA was fast but could be pushed to 1600 in extreme circumstances!

Hope the kidding posts weren't too annoying - guessing that they were more amusing to you by the fact that you took the time to return to give us the diagnosis, thanks.

indeed it is an insane ISO, yes it looks like mince meat but the fact that it *can* do A HUNDRED THOUSAND ISO is amazing
