Whats Your Experience With The Fuji X100

There is a rather long thread detailing experience (and everything else) on X100. A few threads down from this one.

But to sum up, it is a great camera. Lovely to use, great controls, great lens and sensor and good IQ and colours. Focus speed is not it's strong point though...

If the focus system were to be sorted it would be the perfect camera for just about everything.

Whilst focus and recompose (the only viable method with this camera) is not a chore in itself, waiting for focus lock is.

I love it, It goes everywhere I go, literally! Focus could be faster but you soon get used to it and work round that.

Check my flickr for some recent shots...

Focus is okay in good light, in dim and artificial light it hunts. Everything else is great.

For me it's darn near perfect. Focus is good enough for all except fast moving subjects, kids or pretty well any sport.

No biggie for me, I love the liberation of fixed focal length. The lens is a stunner, plenty sharp enough wide open. Super resistant to flare.

I only ever shoot jpeg with it, I find the results very acceptable, love the film simulation modes.

If I could only save one in a fire, this would be it.

It's very versatile, it doesn't scare people..

I love the Retro styling and the solid feel of it.

Am I sounding like a fan.....cos I am...

What is wrong with the focus ?

It is fine for most things but coming from a DSLR it feels very slow. It is clearly not a sports camera but even trying to capture something moving around fairly slowly can be harder than it could be.

However, I have got over that as I love everything else about the camera.
