Managed to get an hour after work today with my new Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens.
Nice that my first bird I took was one of my favourites!

Lovely looking bird :)

Thought I try a very large crop, to see how well the lens did, not to shabby at all.
Hand held in quite a wind, so the lens was moving around a fair bit.

Not shabby at all Dougie. How do you find hand holding the lens? Is the weight an issue?

Great shots Dougie (y) I managed to get a couple of a female wheatear on Tuesday, the male eluded me.

I was quite happy with them until I saw yours

Hi Di,
I used to have the Sigma 150-500, and it is very similar in size and weight, so I am used to hand holding a lens of this size, think it is only 0.2kg heavier.
Was tempted to buy the Sport version, as seeing I dislike using a tripod or monopod, the extra 1.0kg in weight would have been quite a hand full!

Impressive photos even without considering value for money. Canon and Nikon second hand offerings are several thousand pounds more than you paid for your's new.
