Where did that come from?

When I look through my optical viewfinder I can see a small fingerprint. It is not on the end of lens as have filter on there and never taken it off since bought lens. It's not on mirror as never touched that. Have wiped viewfinder but can still see it. Ant ideas?

Id take the filter off and double check...? Kids, friends, anyone that could have got hold? Body end of the lens?

Nope no one allowed to touch it and I'm so careful. But I dont know where it is :-(

You dont by any chance wear glasses do you.

Well there are 3 mirrors inside the cam, but only one that you could realistically touch without doing some damage to the cam... Maybe the sensor? Ive never heard of that though. Then theres the 2 ends of the lens, but if youve checked them then and the viewfinder then im at a loss

Could be on the focus screen also. Take the lens off, turn the cam upside down and look into the mirror box. How you'd get a finger print in there though?? Most likely is the camera end of the lens.

It's not the lens or filter - anything on those would be way out of focus. It's got to bewon the focussing screen.
