I'm think about a birthday treat for myself and would like to ask if anyone knows of any great deals out there.

I've look at camera price buster, but I'm sure there must be other sellers too.

It must be UK spec and not an import.

Cheers Mark

Can it be an import with full UK warranty? i.e. Kerso?

Otherwise camerapricebuster is probably giving you a price pretty close to the best you'll get!

Calumet were £3700 a few weeks ago.

I have bought Lenses from Kerso but never a body as I thought Canon did worldwide guarantee on lenses but country specific on bodies.

Best I seen so far is £3700 from Midfus and Castle Cameras. My dad may be wanting a 50D and 70-200 f4 too, so I'm hoping (not much chance really) for some sort of deal, if I can find a friendly supplier.

That's true, however because Kerso does stuff legitimately, all the necessary taxes and duties have been paid, and he provides a UK receipt, Canon UK will honour the warranty

i can only comment on my dealings with Mifsuds, they are the most helpful shop i have ever used, photography or otherwise, and are often able to do deals on multiple purchases.
give Matt a ring, it cant hurt.

So how much is Kerso selling them for?

Firstly, happy birthday!

I'd go for one of the big guys like Calumet or Park Cameras who are used to dealing in good quantities of top end pro gear.

However, you might like to try Jessops too. Dont laugh, here's why. They have a no-hassle refund/exchange policy. You can take advantage of the somewhat casual nature of their staff who are happy usually OK with doing a refund or exchange if you dont like what you've bought or are unhappy with it. They'll usually price match (take along the Camera Price Buster printout) with a bit of persuasion. They're also usually local or relatively nearby (not sure where you are though but this is handy if Calumet or Park are quite a way away). Worth a try.

Personally, I would go for a used body with a low shutter count. Bit like never buying a new car I guess....

Alistar, with the 1D being a Pro body I would think it's hard to get a low count second hand. It's one of the reasons I'm thinking of a 1D as I shoot 1000+ images a day at track and field events.

As it's a self treat it will be a new camera just can't really make my mind up.

Heart says 1D MK IV
Head says 7D Gripped.

Get the 1D, you could get runover by a bus next week!

If it's coming out of earnings from photography then go for whichever will give you the required results for the least cash.

If you're a multi-millionaire banker...get the mkIV.

But think very carefully about whether you really need the mkIV. It's just money down the drain if you're not using it to it's full potential.
