Where to find Waders (South coast)

Me & the Mrs are up for a run out tomorrow (Friday) for a spot of birding. We'd like to find a good location for waders on the South coast, anywhere from Southampton to Lyme Regis. Are we too early for the winter birds?

The Axe estuary @ Seaton (sorry, a bit further West than the range you said)
