Where to get a replacement sling strap clip?

Having mounted my sling strap to a qr plate in a very non-manufacturer-approved way, the harder steel of the qr plate has absolutely eaten the clip/carabina thingy on my strap...

Does anyone have any ideas where I could get a new one from? I have no idea what the official name of the part even is, which is making searching quite tricky! Cheers,

You made your own black rapid style setup? If so you can buy an authentic clip off eBay. Just search black rapid , in the UK. Or you can buy about six non authentic clips designed for webbing by searching civilian lab... sorry for no links, posting from phone, will pop back here later with links if not solved by this afternoon.

I didn't make the sling strap system myself, I bought one :D. However, as I alternate between using a tripod, and a sling strap, I went for the untested route of clipping the sling strap clip to the loop on the QR plate, do I didn't keep having to take the whole plate off every time I wanted to change.

This worked well at first, but then in the space of a few hours hiking, the loop on the QR plate did this:

So I'm after a new one! Which I'll mount like this:

I dont know about the redsnapper plates but I use a Arca style QR clamp attached to my BR strap - I can then attach/detach from the lens plate.
Attached is a pic of the set-up - I use this with a 7D + 300/2.8 + converter (almost 8 lbs)

Which should prevent metal-eating, and still allow for quick changes between tripod and sling use :)
