Where to pick up a 5x4 / 4x5 camera in the UK?

define cheap.

I got mine from a local indy camera dealer, plenty of them on ebay but you cant see the condition of them there so i guess it would be hit and miss. If the bellows are rotten then you got the extra cost of replacing that.

Try Aperture , they have a stock of large format cameras and are pretty reputable, nothing large format is going to be "on the cheap" though.

Hi, I shoot a lot of 4x5 studio work and get most of my stuff from Mr Cad. I've been dealing with them for years and never had any problems. Mail order is no worries as they'll let you have virtually anything second hand on trial. Hope this helps.

I've always thought if you make the right choices LF gear is ridiculously cheap relatively speaking for what you are getting.

MrCad's now near Victoria as mentioned is always worth a try.

There are say three broad catogories of cameras monorails field cameras and technical / press cameras, wooden field cameras tend to be the ones people think they want and tend to comand a higher prioce secondhand lots of people think they don't want monorails so they can be relatively very cheap.

Some found looking round the usual suspects.
