Yes
I'm doing a photography project for my final year of college, and i need models for horror shoots.
I've searched on model mayhem and found some, but i'm just waiting for the site to accept me. Anyone know any other sites to find models in the UK?

I am currently on Purestorm but it took 3 attempts to get accepted on there because they didn't like the fact that I mentioned being a member of my local camera club then they said I needed to upload more than 4 photos to my portolio despite it being restricted to 4 for new members.

I'm convinced these sites don't actually want you as members.

I originally applied to Purestorm stating that I was the treasurer of my local camera club with the responsibility of finding models for our studio sessions and I got rejected on the grounds that they only accept members as individuals, not as a club. I tried to explain I was an individual but they ignored it. I then reregistered and just mentioned I was a member of a club and again I was rejected. I now have no mention of anything to do with the club but the fact still remains, I am on there to find models for the members of the club to shoot.

I don't think I was unlucky, I was just too honest. :cuckoo:

I am amazed that a student in a college would see finding models a problem.
All you need to do is ask fellow students. some will reject the idea, some will agree.

I don't have problems finding people to photograph, I find it hard to find people to photograph that look good, and inspire me. If they're just dull and people i'm in classes with it takes the fun out of it.

I photographed almost every girl in my year at college...naked...some were great-looking, others weren't...But you have to spread the Love...lol

Then you are plain not looking.
any college is overflowing with beautiful girls.
Some have beautiful hands
some beautiful bodies
and some beautiful faces.
Some are simply stunners.
The job of a photographer is often to make plain Jane beautiful.

So far all I am hearing is excuses.

I don't need to make excuses to you over a forum. [comment removed]

Lighten up! Every forum has a few elitists but once you push past the snobbery you'll find TP has some good advice floating around. I can't help but agree with finding models inside the college though...it can feel like you're asking a lot of a stranger and being a bit bold but it's worth it! I did my A Level assignment on re-creating Richard Avedon's stuff from the American West with a bit of humour and *all* of the models were complete strangers and they all thoroughly enjoyed it! Besides, if all else fails appeal to some friends on facebook!

did you manage to handhold with one hand? if so, hats off to you...:D

Gie's a wave from ra gutter, Dave :lol:

Actually the heading reminded me of.....

Aarroonnn, I have edited your last post. Please keep your tone civilised and polite. Whether you agree with the advice given or not, there is no need for personal insults.

Gotta agree with asking around in college/uni. The amount of drama kids wanting to have their photo taken is unbelievable almost. They just love to be in front of a camera doing all kinds of wacky things.

Also, if you start looking at models on modelmayhem and Purestorm etc. you might end up having to pay (cash) to get what you want. Better to deal with what you have readily available to you rather than making it harder and potentially expensive for yourself.

Of course you did

It was an Art College - we helped each other out - the Photography students needed models and the Graphics Design and Fashion students needed photographers - it was a symbiotic thing that made everyone's life a lot easier...
We even 'staged' Press-Scrums for the end of year Catwalk shows over in Maidenhead...lol

Hii
Thanks for the advice guys, sorry i got a bit testy in my previous comment, was a bad day lol.
But yeah i've found two girls on a modelling site willing to work for free. And i've seen a couple of girls at college i plan on stalking down at some point.

THANKS ! x
