My daughter has the VC version of the Tamron and its very good indeed, not that far off my Canon 17-55mm and given the price difference that's not a bad performance

I have the sigma on canon 60d and I am extremely pleased with it. In my opinion it is as good as canon's if not better. Super sharp. It is my walk about lens and have taken superb pictures with it.
