Which 30/35mm prime lens? (canon)

Hi

Looking to buy a wide prime lens for my Canon 600D. Will need it for stills shooting but also need to use it for video interviews so will use digital zoom within the 600D to make this lens a 60/90mm.

Budget is about £250. I've looked at the Sigma 30mm 1.4 but heard bad reviews on it. Any other options? Would rather not get old Nikon glass as I will be taking stills too.

Canon 35mm f/2 is very good. Approx £200 new.

I have the 35 f/2 and find it very good compared to my 18-135 zoom lens. I wouldn't call it 'wide' however.
