Could really stretch and go FF for another £200 with a used mkll or.d600 but would I regret it?:-(
 
No idea iv not used FF, fairly happy with aps-c tbh. Can you get a used 6d for that? Would sort your low light situation out
 
Then do you need the d600/mk ii? Think you answered your own question there mate :)
 
I think I'll put camera models in a hat and pick one out
 
Think will have to go nikon as they have the 35 and 50 which are cheaper and excellent canon only have the 50
 
I've seen a d5200 under 2000 shutter count £240 mint body good deal?

You need to decide for yourself Pete.

You have limited budget, been used to a D300 , K5 etc............ which are more for enthusiasts with there external controls. You need to decide if your happy diving into the menu system to change settings with a D5xxx series, if not get a D7000 for your budget. Also, allowing for what is comfortable in the hand, easy really.

Sorry if this post sounds a little blunt, but you're starting to go around in circles. Buy whats best for you.

Pete, it's usually advised to invest in the glass first. The Nikon 35 & 50mm are not expensive lenses and can be bought without much saving if your working etc...... Look at your budget and see what you can afford after buying these lenses, it may help you decide which body you can purchase.

There have been a few opinions going for the D7000, and IMO it would be what I would buy after owning the D3100, D7000, D7100 & Currently the D750 for the budget you have.

If you have a look at the link below from DP you can compare ISO performance and IMO the D7000 is cleaner than the D5200 & D5300 @ ISO 3200. You can change the ISO setting at the bottom if you want to compare other readings.

Edit: It hasn't saved the camera makes for the test. Just use the drop down menus at top and change to the relevant cameras. ISO changes are at bottom.

I'm over analysing as I've not had a dslr for a while yet I know any of them will do what I need
 
Out of curiosity who would go d5300 over the d7000 forgetting ergonomics
