Which Budget Zoom Lens??

I thought I had decided on a Sigma 70-300 APO lens but i've just seen a Canon 100-300MM F4.5-5.6 USM lens for the same price.

Has anyone got any experience of either lenses or slightly better used both?

Also are there any other 300mm lenses I should be looking at?

I have an old Canon 100-300mm here - AF is quick and quiet, image quality isn't bad and it is a nice lens to use.
Is the one you can get new?

Sorry should have said its for a 400D and no the 100-300 is secondhand but with some warranty

I've used the Sigma 70-300 and a very good lens it is too. here are a couple of links of shots I took with it:
