Which C/F Tripod legs?

I've been looking for a set of solid carbon fibre tripod legs, something near to eye-level height capability without a centre column. I've seen some Giottos at a premium price but wondered if there were any other options available - I want something very solid but as light as possible ... any suggestions folks?
 
Gitzo if your budegt will stretch. Worth looking at Red Snapper or Benro.Depending upon your ethical views, Benro produce some models that are virtually identical to their Gitzo counterparts.
 
I have a Manfrotto 190cxpro4 CF but it does have a centre column which rarely gets used (but then I'm only little, 5'7"). Depends how tall you are!
 
I use benro legs, top notch legs at a good price.
 
Definitely have a look at the Gitzo range of legs. They're top draw (and cost to match).

I have 3541LS which are discontinued. They're about 22" folded up and go to my eye level with my kirk bh-1 head. No centre post.

I'm on my phone at the moment. But go have a look at Gitzo.co.uk for some ideas.

I looked at that too and it was 19mm

The rapid seemed the best option, their version of the Gitzo ALR so you can undo and tighten all three locks at once

Asked a few questions and their customer service was very good, shame they were out of stock when I was looking to buy, had a lead time of about a month then

I like what they're doing with the branding, but I'm not a fan of the centre columns, those Benro ones seem the best to me (without paying Gitzo prices).

Depends on the condition,how many miles has it done,has it been dented by wife,is it near to boxing and storing in 6foot hole:shrug:,you will have to be honest,is it in virgin condition :naughty:.

Are the lenses 20/20 or do you use correction glass.:lol:

The Feisol CT-3472 Large Tournament Class tripod arrived this morning.
It's a beefy solid piece of kit with carbon fibre legs going from 37mm max to 28mm min diameter, good solid looking rubber feet and a hook under the centre plate for extra weight balancing if that were ever needed with a tripod this sturdy.
Fully upright its as high as I would want it, in fact I might have to lower it ever so slightly to be a comfortable standing viewfinder height.
Comes with carry bag and Allen key set and seems to be a good option for the money and at just over 1.7Kg not too difficult to transport.
Although I don't think it has the 'Rapid' action, the legs are easy to lower/raise with very little adjustment necessary.
All in all very pleased on initial inspection - thanks to all for the suggestions offered :)
 
Sounds like a good choice, would be interested in hearing your thoughts a few months on if you would be so kind
